Hi! I’m Taylor Lee, a psychotherapist in New York moonlighting as an author.

I got my start in 2020 editing fiction for a small press and wrote my first fantasy romance series in 2021. Things pretty much went to hell after that...I’ll return to my beloved fantasy genre someday, but for now I’ve shifted focus.

In 2023, I published a poetry collection exploring grief, substance use, and coming-of-age resilience. In 2025, I released Simon the Silly Snake, a children’s book I wrote for my son that explores empathy, playfulness, and challenging appearance-based bias.

My current novel-in-progress, Between the Lines, blends realistic fiction with research. It centers on the grim reality for substance users cycling through New York’s county-level criminal justice systems. When bail laws changed in 2019, overdose risks and recidivism increased. People are losing their lives. Through a neuroscience lens, I see a system that fails to support those in active addiction—and my goal is to highlight these flaws through story and statistics to advocate for meaningful change.
