Hi! I’m Taylor Lee, a psychotherapist in New York moonlighting as an author.
I got my start in 2020 editing fiction for a small press and wrote my first fantasy romance series in 2021. Things pretty much went to hell after that...I’ll return to the fantasy genre someday, but for now I’ve shifted focus.
In 2023, I published a poetry collection exploring grief, substance use, and coming-of-age resilience. In 2025, I released Simon the Silly Snake, a children’s book I wrote for my son that explores empathy, playfulness, and challenging appearance-based bias. I also released Creepy Campfire Stories, my first collection of short silly and spooky tales.
My current novel-in-progress, Between the Lines, blends realistic fiction with research. It centers on the grim reality for substance users cycling through New York’s county-level criminal justice systems. My goal is to highlight flaws through story and statistics to advocate for neuroscience informed change.
